Encompassing 70,000 acres along the shores of Pennsylvania & NJ, the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is perfect for day trips or overnight camping! Hike 27 miles of the Appalacian Trail in the park or take a day trip by car and visit gorgeous scenery including the 'Gap'--where the Delaware cuts through the Appalacian Mountain range, waterfalls at Dingmans Falls or Childs Park, and visit historic Millbrook Village. Canoe, camp, swim, picnic, kayak, bicycle, cross country ski, horseback ride, raft & tube in the extensive park! Fishing and hunting are also available in season with proper licensure.

Along with more than 244 species of birds, fox, deer, muskrat, turtles, fish, frogs, plants and flowers make their home here. The Swamp is actually a remnant of a glcial lake from 15-11k years ago. Lord Stirling Park, located at the southwest perimeter of the refuge, offers hiking trails including boardwalks and nature exhibits.
